Night Guards

Teeth grinding, also called bruxism, is usually the result of stress and anxiety, but can also be caused by sleep disorders or by an abnormal bite. Luckily, our wonderful dentist, Dr. Jose Lopez, can fit you with a night guard in order to protect your teeth from painful and damaging nighttime grinding or clenching.

The symptoms of teeth grinding include:

  • Waking up with dull headaches
  • Jaw soreness
  • Teeth that are loose or painful
  • Fractured teeth

Getting fitted for a night guard is a very simple procedure. Impressions will be taken of your upper mouth in order to replicate your bite. The mold will then be sent to a dental lab, which will create your night guard.

You should notice a marked improvement in your symptoms not long after you’ve begun wearing your night guard to bed. It’s definitely not the most attractive accessory, but it will improve your oral health and your sleep by leaps and bounds!
